The Start of Lauren's First Full Year
Hello all, we hope you and your families had a wonderful Christmas. Our first Christmas as a family was terrific!! Lauren was such fun and got incredibly spoiled. I think we may have to buy a bigger house now to fit all her new toys!!:) I took her to the mall to have her photo taken with Santa and she loved it. We got a really cute picture which you’ll see in this section. She was fascinated by his beard.
Time sure does fly when you have an endless source of entertainment on your hands!! Can you believe that Lauren is 9 months old already?!?! And she has turned into a regular little monkey who sure is keeping Mommy, Daddy and Cocoa (our cat) on their toes. She began crawling all over the place about a week before Christmas and was able to pull herself up and maneuver around furniture long before that. Those who see us often believe she will definitely be walking well before her first birthday. Cocoa can’t stay in one place too long for fear that a little fist will find a handful of hair or a tail to tug on or a sloppy, drippy kiss coming her way. Our little pumpkin is so curious about everything in the world. Her favourite toys right now are the TV remote and our BlackBerry devices. She loves to send her Daddy messages both on the computer and on my BlackBerry. With a little luck she’ll be as good or better with a computer than her Daddy is:-) She does love being outdoors and feeling the wind in her face so hopefully the eternal monitor tan isn’t in her future.
We just had Lauren’s 9 month checkup at the Doctor today and she is now 21lbs and 29.25” tall. She has 3 teeth and is working on a fourth. Because she now has some teeth her food options are not quite so limited. Since she has now covered all the food groups in her baby food and isn’t keen on taking a bottle during the day, she has been given the ok by the Doctor to start on milk. We’ll try that this afternoon and see how she likes that. We have already experimented with some dairy, she likes yogurt and ice cream, chocolate (of course, I am her mother after all:-)) and most recently cheesecake:-) She HATES cooked peas and scrambled eggs, you should see her face when you put these in her mouth (but they don’t stay in long), it’s the most hilarious thing you’ve ever seen!!
We hope you enjoy these latest photos (we cover our first family Christmas to the New Year). Don’t forget to check back again in a few weeks for our next update as Lauren continues to astonish and amaze us every day.
Love to all.
